Accessibility Statement

Making arts and culture accessible to everyone.

Last Updated: February 2026

WordForWord Arts CIC is committed to making its website accessible, in accordance with the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018.

This statement applies to w4wa.co.uk, our booking subdomain book.w4wa.co.uk, and our research portal.

1. Compliance Status

Fully Compliant

This website is fully compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 AA standard.

We have recently conducted an internal audit and resolved issues to ensure:

  • Colour Contrast: All text meets the required 4.5:1 contrast ratio against its background.
  • Keyboard Navigation: All interactive elements (menus, buttons, forms, and surveys) receive focus and can be operated without a mouse.
  • Forms: Error messages and labels are clearly identified for assistive technologies.
  • Headings: Pages follow a logical semantic structure (H1, H2, H3) for screen readers.

2. How accessible is this website?

We want as many people as possible to be able to use this website. For example, that means you should be able to:

  • Zoom in up to 300% without the text spilling off the screen.
  • Navigate most of the website using just a keyboard.
  • Listen to most of the website using a screen reader (including the most recent versions of JAWS, NVDA, and VoiceOver).
  • Navigate the site with speech recognition software.

We have also made the website text as simple as possible to understand.

Survey Accessibility

Our "Cumbria Arts & Culture 2026" survey has been built with specific accessibility features:

  • Large Hit Areas: Checkboxes and buttons are sized for easy clicking/tapping.
  • Focus States: Inputs light up clearly when selected.
  • No Time Limits: You can take as long as you need to complete the questions.

3. Feedback & Contact Information

If you need information on this website in a different format like accessible PDF, large print, easy read, audio recording or braille, please contact us:

We’ll consider your request and get back to you within 5 working days.

4. Enforcement Procedure
