This piece explored a difficult shift in society. We looked at how our view of consent and female bodies changed in the era of #MeToo. We did not use a script written by a playwright. We used real conversations with local people.
The performance took the form of a one-woman show. We devised it entirely around verbatim materials. The staging remained minimalist to keep the focus on the words.
Produced in association with Edge Hill University and SafetyNet Cumbria, this piece offered an abstract but sincere examination of the topic. It challenged the audience to look at how we approach consent, both individually and as a society.
